Richard’s Branson’s new cruise company, Virgin Voyages, hasn’t shipped off yet, but they are already making waves with the exciting announcement of their crew’s uniforms. These uniforms were created in collaboration with British fashion designer, Gareth Pugh. These pieces will provide the crew with a wide range of styles to choose from for day and night. Previous uniforms have contained stripes for officers, ties, and waistcoats but the Virgin Voyages staff is crafting new traditions through their innovation.

Don’t let the sleek designs mislead you, these uniforms are still 100% functional. The Virgin Voyages staff each had their input taken into account to make sure they could perform their duties accordingly in each look. Pugh’s even designed a signature, custom-tailored red sneakers made by San Francisco-based PLAE. The gender-neutral, PLAE sneakers are intended to contrast Pugh’s designs for a “cheeky yet elevated look true to the Virgin Voyages spirit.”

“For this project, we were really allowed to push the boundaries, and to redefine the idea of what constitutes a uniform,” Pugh added in the statement. We ultimately wanted to make everything about it modern, luxurious and desirable — to allow the entire crew to look and feel like a million dollars, in keeping with the rest of the experience.”

Virgin Voyages goal is to have the happiest crew at sea, taking time to make sure each member feels comfortable and confident.

We can’t wait to see what else they have in-store!
